1. should be close to a water source

2. but not too close! You want to be at least 50 feet away from water source (so we don't add more pollution to the water)

3. don't set up in a clearing with tracks in it--you could be putting your tent right in a deer or bear trail!

4. clear rocks from camp site

5. if raining, use a ground cloth, dig a trench around tent and don't set up the tent until you're ready to get in it

Did you know... bats eat millions of mosquitoes a night. If you are lucky enough to spot them in your yard, build a bat house so they stick around for a while!
